I’ve been using the regular E-cigarette from Instead for about three weeks, late February, 2009. I am presently using the regular medium cartridges with the medium liquid; at times mixed with water at 50/50. I have found my need for regular tobacco cigarettes next to none; I have had an average on one real cigarette per day since starting the E-Cigarettes. The problems I have encountered are for one, the cartridges don’t last as long as they claim but adding a drop or two of water makes the cartridge last much longer. Two, the batteries don’t last long; I have found I have to charge the batteries a couple times per day, there isn’t much I can do about this.
I intend to make my next purchase from Epuffers; I hope the second generation manufacturing has improved most aspects. Although, as either a replacement for smoking or as a way to reduce smoking with the intent to stop smoking. I find the E-cigarette great. No other method, the patch, gum, lozenges, or inhalers have helped me in the past at all. I believe the E-cigarette covers pretty well all aspects of smoking which makes it the one that is, and will work for me; whether I continue to smoke or stop. Even if I decide to stop I can still use the ‘no nicotine’ cartridges so I will be getting no effects from smoking at all except the usual pleasure of going through the motions. I should add that already I am smoking nothing at times since often my cartridge will have nothing but distilled water in it. So far, I think the E-Cigarette is the best thing that has ever hit the market.
I should mention I have been smoking for over forty years, most of that time smoking the strongest cigarettes I could find. Often rolling my own without filters and using the strongest tobacco I could find. Over the past few years I have went to lighter cigarettes and cut the amount from several packs per day to about one and one half packs. So far I have benefitted from the E-Cigarette since my ability to breathe has become much better.
I bought Njoy. While the concept is perfect for me, and the e-cigs work perfectly, it emits a foul-tasting substance from the end of the cigarette (liquid nicotine I assume). I’ve seen this problem mentioned in other reviews…if anyone knows a brand which does NOT do this, please advise, as I want to use this product, but not if it spits horrible taste into my mouth!
